The plot is not too distinct from the base game. The appeal of this mod is that it changes character designs to look more like their icons, often taking some creative liberties with it, like turning Pump into Skid's puppet, or giving Pico a dinosaur costume.

The team initially had plans to have another major update that would turn the mod from a simple sprite swap to a full on overhaul, but due to complications (in particular LagoAnims suffering from burnout and disillusion with the current state of the mod), it was decided that the mod would be rebooted. Its most recent big update, Version 2.0, adding Minus versions of Mommy Mearest and Monster as well as the other two Boyfriends, came out on May 18th of the same year.
